Job Description:
We are looking for a dependable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods over various distances, adhering to delivery schedules and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. As a professional Truck Driver, your role is vital to ensuring timely delivery of goods to our clients and maintaining the reputation of our company for reliability and professionalism.You will operate commercial vehicles, such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or box trucks, depending on the job requirements. This position may involve long-distance travel, overnight stays, and interaction with clients at pickup and drop-off locations. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and possess strong time management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Operate heavy commercial vehicles to transport goods across long or short distances.
Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS systems and road maps.
Load, secure, and unload cargo safely to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
Perform pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
Maintain accurate logbooks of hours driven, distance traveled, fuel usage, and cargo details in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Adhere to traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies at all times.
Coordinate with dispatchers and logistics teams for route planning, delivery confirmations, and changes in schedules.
Communicate effectively with clients and customers at pick-up and drop-off locations.
Report any vehicle issues, accidents, delays, or incidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
Handle documentation related to deliveries including bills of lading, manifests, and delivery confirmations.
Ensure proper handling of hazardous or sensitive materials, if applicable.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned truck, inside and out.
Monitor and manage hours-of-service (HOS) compliance to avoid violations.
